Drake's Carpet Bowls Ref: N5692 |
|
That swashbuckling sailor, Sir francis Drake, brought bowls into the nautical sphere in 1588 when he carried on playing bowls on Plymouth Hoe even after being told that the Spanish Armada had been sighted in the English channel. (In reality, the tide and wind prevented him from sailing!). Normally, bowls need a green about 40 yards long but this version can be played on a carpet as short as 12 ft. The game consists of two sets of four 2" (50mm) diameter evenly weighted and biased ebonised resin bowls and a small white jack. Simple to play, but skill shows and enjoyed by all ages. Delivery to: UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark. France, Germany, Greece, Greenland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland. P+P ADDED AT CHECKOUT (Some non-uk destinations may require an additional delivery charge for heavier items). |
